About David
David Michie is the author of Buddhism for Busy People, Hurry Up and Meditate, The Dalai Lama’s Cat series and numerous other books. Originally from Harare, David now lives in Perth where he is an active member of the Perth Tibetan Buddhist Society. David leads annual Mindful Safaris in Victoria Falls and often combines these with a visit to Harare. He will join us for this special weekend to share his enthusiasm for listening, thinking and meditating about shunyata. He will also explain why even an inkling of what shunyata means is enough to transform our experience of reality.

Just as there is no altruism greater than that of bodhichitta, there is no wisdom higher than shunyata.
The Heart Sutra is considered a text of the most extraordinary power. In order to prepare for the teachings, two texts are recommended: -
- Essence of the Heart Sutra – The Dalai Lama’s Heart of Wisdom Teachings, Translated and edited by Geshe Thupten Jinpa
- The Gelug/Kagyu Tradition of Mahamudra – H.H. The Dalai Lama and Alexander Berzin
